Gary Potter, LIMHP, LPC

I grew up with Big Red Blood, having lived all but seven years in the state. I graduated from Cozad High School in 1972, and from Gul-Coast Bible College in Houston, Texas in 1977, with an undergraduate degree in bible, theology and psychology. I was ordained in pastoral ministries in 1983. Upon graduation from UNK with my Master’s in Counseling in 1997, i began working for Dr. Michael Burke and Associates. I am a Certified Professional Counselor and a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner.

My passion as a counselor is to help the people I work with find healing from life’s painful experiences and to help them develop and enhance the lives they want to live. I counsel fro ma non-dogmatic christian point of view and am credentialed as New Life Ministries Counselor. I work with a variety of emotional and/or psychological issues. I have worked extensively with couples and relationship issues, spiritual issues, PTSD, anxiety, and depression issues.

I enjoy doing carpentry projects that my wife finds for me to do (she seems to never run out of ideas!) I ran my own carpentry business in the past. My wife and I have six grown children, and thirteen grandchildren who we dont get to see nearly enough. I enjoy team sports, and hunting and fishing and every now and then I find time to lose a few golf balls.
