Monica is a dedicated Provisionally Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Master’s Level Clinical Mental Health Practitioner. She holds dual psychology degrees from Liberty University, specializing in addictions, recovery, and life coaching. Currently, she is completing her M.S. degree at Evangel University.
As a native of rural Nebraska, Monica has a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by the agricultural community, families, and individuals. She is a passionate advocate for mental wellness in agriculture and is committed to helping adults, and families, who are struggling with dependence and addiction, guiding them through the disruptions these issues can cause in their lives.
Monica has gained valuable experience at various levels of care in substance abuse and mental health. She is currently focused on designing and implementing an intensive outpatient substance abuse program at Kearney Counseling Associates. Her goal is to empower clients to take an active role in their recovery journey through growth and healing.
Adopting an integrative and holistic approach to counseling, Monica embraces the Whole-Person Wellness model, addressing all eight dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Environmental, Financial, Intellectual, Occupational, Physical, Social, and Spiritual. In the safe space of therapy, clients are encouraged to explore these dimensions more deeply, understand the factors that have shaped their lives, and find a balance between self-acceptance and positive change. She draws from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual and situation.
Monica is attuned to the various systems that impact our lives, including social and cultural influences, and she explores how individual identities intersect with the environment. Today is the perfect day for change, and Monica is committed to providing consistent, dedicated, and collaborative support as you embark on your journey toward a better tomorrow.
